Abi graduated from the University of Leeds in 2018 with a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Sciences. Following this she completed her MSc in Clinical Exercise Physiology at the University of Bedfordshire and in 2019 began her PhD within the Institute of Sport and Physical Activity Research at the same institution.

Alongside her studies, Abi has taught on both undergraduate and postgraduate courses and in June 2022 was awarded Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

Abi joined Loughborough University in November 2023 as a University Teacher on the Clinical Exercise Physiology MSc programme.

Abi’s research focuses on pathological and physiological cardiac hypertrophy. Most recently, Abi’s work has combined echocardiography and continuous blood pressure monitoring to investigate cardiac structure and function in response to resistance exercise.
